iPhone case with bow

My lovely friend Nicole presented me beautiful fabric for christmas last friday. She remembered that I felt in love with this fabric during our last shopping trip - even though I decided not to buy it as we had other shopping plans for that day.
I used some free hours at this weekend to sew something totally new. Pattydoo was a very great inspiration. I found an easy tutorial and pattern for this girly iphone case with a charming bow on the back side.

New York 2013

We are back home since Tuesday. Our flight was great. The aircraft wasn’t fully booked, so there was enough free space for sleeping. We visited New York with our dear friends Sandra and Simon and had a really great and funny time together.

On our first day we took a walk through the city. It was loud and full and my friend Sandra needed some time to get used to it. We had dinner in an american bar and returned to our hotel in Queens very early as we were very tired because of our long journey.

Next day we left our hotel early. I was excited because we planed to fly with an helicopter above Manhattan for 20 minutes. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t nice and it rained now and than. Nevertheless we enjoyed this special experience and made incredible pictures of Manhattan and the other districts of NY. In the evening we visited the colorful Time Square.

Saturday morning we visited the Rockefeller Center to gaze at the amazing christmas tree in front of the beautiful ice rink. Unfortunately it wasn’t possible for us to skate because the place was totally crowded. Instead of that we visited some stores like Macy’s. In the evening we decided to visit the Empire State Building. We waited for ages as we finally arrived at the observation platform. The view at night was amazing. In a quite moment as we were on our own D. asked me to take off my gloves. „No, it’s too cold“ I explained. „But you have to.“ He answered. Than I realized what will happen next and got incredibly exited. He hold a small black box in his hands and asked me if I want to be his wife. „Yes, of course!“ I answered. Than he put a beautiful ring on my finger and I felt like in heaven. After this magical moment we looked for our friends who already knew what will happen at this special place. They have been very happy for us.

On Sunday morning we visited the 9/11 memorial. As we visited New York four years ago this was just a giant construction area. Now the amazing Freedom Tower is almost finished. It was a sad feeling to walk around the park remembering what happened here years ago. Later we visited the financial district and made a long walk through the crowded fifth avenue.

On Monday we left New York and visited the Woodbury Outlet for shopping. It wasn’t crowded but the time went by very fast anyway. Of course we spend more money as we planed.
Next day we did a trip on a boat to see the skyline of Manhattan and last but not least the liberty. The sky was clear and we made a lot of beautiful pictures during the sunset. Afterwards we went to the Rockefeller Center to see the amazing christmas tree by night.

On our last day the sky was clear and we enjoyed a short walk trough the adorable central park. I was sad as I realized that we have to leave this amazing city in few hours. In the afternoon we went back to our hotel, picked up our luggage and drove to the Newark Airport by bus.

The week in New York was unforgettable for me. I am engaged now! To be honest, I still haven’t realized that our wedding is near. There is so much work to do – and I am really looking forward it!

Cookies

As every year D. and I spent our first Sunday in December with baking delicious christmas cookies. It took us five hours in the kitchen and my spine was hurting a lot as we finally finished our work. But it was worth it. In this year we made our traditional “Saure Sahne Plätzchen”, Vanille-Kipferl” and last but not least our very special “Schoko-Spritzgebäck”.
I bought a cookie stamp for our “Spritzgebäck” but to be honest, I was not very satisfied with the result. You have to be patient by using the stamp. It’s difficult to find the best handling if yourdough is sticky.
Nevertheless – the cookies taste great. Of course we will share them with our dearest friends and family members. It’s a very big pleasure to make them happy with little gifts like that.

Hierfür braucht man Geduld.
